Power Automate business process automation
Power Automate business process automation
Power Automate connects systems through APIs and native connectors, orchestrating flows across departments, applications, and people — without depending on the graphical interface of the applications.
Flows work natively with SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Dynamics 365, Dataverse, and Power Apps — with no additional integrations or middleware.
Enables process modeling with events, decision gateways, parallel tasks, and escalations — in line with international business process management standards.
End-to-end Procure-to-Pay flow (from request to payment) | Automated 3-Way Matching reconciliation (PO ↔ Goods Receipt ↔ Invoice) | Multi-level approvals in Teams with escalation
Automated invoice processing and routing (invoice workflow) | Bank statement reconciliation | Automated month-end close with checklists and notifications | Automated financial reporting
Digital Kaizen forms (improvement proposals) | Initiative tracking: status, owners, KPIs | Digitized 5S audit with mobile checklists and photo reports | Corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Goods receipt: scanning and validation against the order | Complaint management (customers / suppliers) | Delivery planning and tracking | Management of returns and shipping documents
End-to-end digital onboarding (contract → accounts → equipment → training) | Leave, business travel, and overtime requests in Teams | Performance reviews with 360° feedback | Structured offboarding
Controlled document management (SOPs) with versioning | Non-conformance reporting with an automated investigation flow | Digitized internal audits | ISO document control

The process involves multiple departments or people in different roles (requester, approver, executor)
There are cascading or conditional approvals (e.g., above a certain budget, approval is escalated to the CFO)
The process requires full traceability: who did what, when, and on the basis of which document

You already work within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook)
The process can be modeled in line with BPMN 2.0 — with defined events, decision gateways, and tasks
Transaction volume is medium-to-high and manual processing leads to delays or errors

Power Automate orchestrates business processes across systems through connectors and APIs, following BPM standards. It is ideal for complex flows with approvals, business rules, and native integration within Microsoft 365. UiPath RPA automates at the user interface level — it is ideal for legacy applications without an API. The two technologies are complementary: Power Automate can orchestrate the end-to-end process, while UiPath bots can be called for the steps that require UI interaction.
BPMN 2.0 (Business Process Model and Notation) is the international standard for business process modeling. It enables clear visualization of flows with standardized elements: start/end events, tasks, decision gateways, parallel flows. Implementing processes in line with BPMN 2.0 ensures transparency, auditability, and compliance with ISO or other quality standards.
The cost depends on process complexity, the number of integrations, and the degree of customization required. Power Automate licenses are included in many Microsoft 365 plans, and dedicated licenses are available for premium flows. Contact us for a tailored assessment of your processes.
Yes, this is a common approach in our projects. Power Automate orchestrates the business process (approvals, routing, notifications, system integration), while UiPath RPA bots are called from Power Automate for the steps that require UI-level automation — for example, entering data into a legacy ERP or extracting information from scanned documents.
A simple approval flow can be implemented in 1-2 weeks. A complex process such as end-to-end Procure-to-Pay, with 3-way matching, ERP integrations, and Power Apps interfaces, can take 2-3 months. Our approach is iterative: we deliver value quickly in phases rather than waiting for everything to be perfect from day one.
Use Power Automate when the process involves multiple departments, chained approvals, integration with Microsoft 365, BPMN traceability, and custom interfaces with Power Apps.
Use UiPath RPA when the processes are repetitive, rule-based with no major exceptions — and require interaction with applications that have no API (legacy, desktop).
The two technologies are not competing — they can work together: Power Automate orchestrates, UiPath executes at the UI level.
